Lesson 2 - Measuring Around

To encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about Measuring Around, here are some games and interactive activities they can do on their own or in pairs.

Goal

Measure and compare the distance around objects using direct comparison.

Instructions for Use

Measuring your Feet lets students participate in measuring and comparing the distance around their foot.

To use Measuring your Feet, place one foot on a piece of paper. Trace around it with a pencil. Be sure to hold the pencil straight up. Measure around the foot with a string. Have students compare the length of their foot to their hand or leg.
